Red Wolf is starting the Broken North Cattle Company to provide small modular red meat processing plants. The processing plants are designed for ranchers and local cooperatives to process 10 – 20 head of cattle per day. The processing plants are full-service butcher shops, smoking and sausage facilities, and other services to ensure food sovereignty even in the most remote areas of Alberta. The structures and equipment are designed through a cooperative research and development process to deliver the highest efficiency and cost effectiveness.
Broken North offers two plant sizes; 2500 sf, and 5200 sf. Each of the facilities are designed to process 13 and 20 head of cattle per day and employing 3 – 10 workers at each facility.
Research and Development: Broken North uses tried and true plans from the University of Iowa to design purpose-built facilities for safe, reliable, repeatable and scalable facilities for indigenous communities and other remote communities in Alberta.
